Simple ThingsSimple Things   
The gun is in my hand.   
The river, as I recall, used to run a deep sapphire color. The surface shone with the sun's rays at one time. Children, if lucky, could once find beautiful peices of Topaz, and coins.   
Is it loaded? I can't remember.   
The tree I stand by, at one time, was always either dressed in red leaves or green ones. The shade used to be a sign of welcome after a hot, long day's play.   
I can finally see if it hurts to be shot and not survive.
